Supervision is a working alliance between practitioners. I believe that a collaborative supervision approach is needed to create this alliance.
The aim of supervision is to enhance your effectiveness and includes acquisition of practical skills, mastery of theoretical and personal knowledge and professional development. A shared commitment will foster a 'learning-centered partnership'.
I see it as a mandate in my practice to have a supervision contract with a supervisee. This contract is used as a guideline to negotiate a clear working agreement. At the same time it is a helpful vehicle to create respect, safety and trust, three very important attributes to a supervisory relationship.
My eclectic supervision style is informed by person-centered, strengths-based (solution-focused/narrative) and reflective learning model approaches. I enjoy working with people of diverse personal, spiritual and professional background.
I invite you to engage in effective work which will assist you reaching your goals.
