Two things are on my heart:

1) To allow the counselling process to bring change. Change that enables a client to experience emotional/spiritual healing and improved physical wellbeing.

2) Prevention of stress / anxiety / burnout / depression

Our lives are busy; the influence of social media (pressure/expectations) are constantly increasing.

How are we able to combine education, business and family life and at the same time maintain a healthy balance?

My successful coaching of an extensive family for over twenty-five years, my education in business, professional experience and postgraduate studies inform me in my work. I think that a reflective stance, life skills and stress management skills are an essential part of preventing stress / burnout / anxiety or even depression.

I love my work as a trained counsellor and professional/clinical supervisor. I think it is imperative to acknowledge the fact that the client is the expert in his/her life and professional field and that I as the counsellor/supervisor draw alongside the person. Collaboration, respect and mutuality are some of the necessary core values, enabling the creation of a positive and productive relationship.

I would like to briefly share two of many great experiences in my life:

For many years I enjoyed my involvement as a volunteer at the maximum-security prison in Paremoremo.  Plenty of stress, anxiety, hurt and other raw emotions can be found in such an environment. I had the privilege to develop and to facilitate a program which explored life skills and offered personal development.

I loved the privilege to work with and to oversee the emotional wellbeing of a group of awesome, disabled young people. These motivated young adults developed a great anti-bullying program to be presented at schools.
